I am an experimental physicist. My research sits at the boundary between fundamental and applied. It is focused on the coupling between thermal, electrical and acoustic properties of materials and devices. Recent work includes the field of thermoacoustics, which is the transduction of heat into sound. This involves a range of techniques from device fabrication through to thermal imaging, electrical and acoustic measurements.

I teach on the Natural Sciences degree programme. I current lead two experimental modules: Frontiers in Science 2 (NSC2001) and Experimental Science (NSC1004). I am a co-Director of Education and Student Experience.
