I completed my BSc in Physics with Astrophysics in 2022 at Keele University. I then completed an MPhil also at Keele University under the supervision of Dr Pierre Maxted where I used photometry of low mass eclipsing binary stars (EBLMs) to investigate stellar model predictions in comparison to what we see in observations.
Here at Exeter I'm a PhD student supervised by Prof. Tim Naylor and Dr. Raphaelle Haywood working on radial velocity (RV) characterisation of granulation and supergranulation in Sun-like stars. Granulation and supergranulation have been identified as major hurdles to be overcome if we are to detect Earth-like planets around Sun-like stars. I am also part of the Terra Hunting Science Team, a collaboration that will use the HARPS-3 spectrograph on the Isaac Newton Telescope to build a RV dataset to detect Earth-like exoplanets.
