Physics and Astronomy
I am a PhD research student at the University of Exeter College of Doctoral Training in Metamaterials, having started in 2021 after having graduated from the university of Exeter with a 1st class integrated masters in Physics (Honours) the same year. My project is “Tensorial surfaces for novel antenna functionality” under the supervision of Prof. Alastair Hibbins, Dr Simon Horsley and Dr Ian Hooper. In my project I am studying how surfaces can be designed with periodic features such as to produce and manipulate a frequency dependent tensorial impedance with regards to electromagnetic waves, to improve different elements of antenna functionality for example screening out unwanted frequencies associated with connecting an antenna directly to a metal ground plane.
For my masters project I studied effect of varying configurations of multilayer structures to produce (PMA) perpendicular anisotropy magnetic anisotropy.
