Dan Moore is a Postgraduate Researcher at the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Metamaterials (XM2). His PhD is titled 'Making the world sound better - acoustic metamaterials for manipulating sound in air and underwater'.
He began his career in the live event industry in 2008 and continues to work as an audio engineer and consultant. He has had a multi-faceted career, having engineered for countless live acts, composed music for film, managed noise for outdoor music events and helped developments gain planning permission relating to noise.
In 2019 he completed a postgraduate degree in Applied Acoustics from Southampton Solent University. His research project was titled 'A study measuring the diffusive acoustic properties of three prototype diffuser designs using optimised procedural noise, and additive manufacturing methods'.
Dan holds membership with the Audio Engineering Society, and associate membership with the Institute of Acoustics UK.
