I graduated in July 2016 with an MPhys (Hons) degree in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Exeter, during which I researched star formation and gas kinematics in the spiral arms of the Milky Way. After this, I returned to Exeter and worked as a GBP on the Education Catalyst Project, investigating modules offered by the University (specifically the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences) to assess alignment with the University's Education Strategy.

I am now studying for a PhD with the XM2 Metamaterials CDT (2017 cohort) under the supervision of Prof. Geoff Nash and Dr Peter Petrov. My research focuses on mass-loading effects due to gas on surface acoustic wave devices (in particular, phononic metamaterials), which I fabricate, characterise and simulate (FEM). My future plans involve investigating how small changes in the surrounding environment affect device responses, with an objective for biological sensing applications.
