Mr Konstantinos Anastasiou
Postgraduate Researcher (Metamaterials CDT 2017)
I started my PhD in September 2015 after receiving my MSc in Astrophysics and Astronomy from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In my Masters project I worked with prof. D. Hatzidimitriou and members of the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote sensing (IAASARS). The aim of the project was produce a catalogue of variable sources chosen from the 30 million sources in the Hubble Source Catalog (HSC), validate those candidates and make them available in a catalogue and it was funded by the European Space Agency (ESA).
My PhD project is on two-dimensional optoelectronic devices but of course not limited to it. As part of my research group I have the opportunity to work on many different aspects of 2D nanoelectronics, ranging from basic research to applications in different kinds of devices. My research is supervised by Prof. Saverio Russo and Prof. Monica Craciun.
