Overview

I am a theoretical quantum physicist with an interest in open quantum systems and the interdisciplinary topic of quantum biology. My work at the University of Exeter centres on the quantum compass of magnetoreception which suggests that there may be a quantum mechanism behind the ability of some animals, such as birds, to sense the Earth's magnetic field for navigation purposes.
