Overview

I received my MPhys degree at the University of Exeter in 2018, with emphasis on Theoretical Physics and Magnonics. My project was based on exploration of an analytical theory for excited spin wave confinement in magnetic nanoelements, of which I presented my work at the MagIC 2017 conference in Poznan, Poland and the later ICMM2018 conference at Exeter University.

This same year I was also accepted as a Postgraduate Researcher at the Centre of Doctoral Training in Metamaterials at Exeter University. In my PhD I am looking at the excitation of spin waves in magnetic elements using surface acoustic waves, developing an analytical theory for the coupling in various magnetic inclusions. By doing this we hope to broaden the functionality of magnon-phonon based devices for use in electrical and mechanical components.
