Thursday 01 Dec 2022Pure Mathematics Seminar: Lion and Man

Prof. Imre Leader - University of Cambridge

Harrison 203 14:30-16:30

In Rado's famous `Lion and Man' problem, a lion and a man are in a circular arena. Each has the same maximum speed. The lion would like to catch the man, and the man would like not to be caught by the lion. Who wins this game? In this talk we will present background on this problem, before moving to some more recent results. This is joint work with Bela Bollobas and Mark Walters.
